In 2005, a group of parents decided that they wanted to be "more involved" with our football program. What started as ordering a common parent sweatshirt and a few common cheers, has morphed into one of the most important parts of the Forester Football experience. The FAMILY that is Lake Forest College Football, is strengthened by the total commitment of the individual families that choose to be a part of it.
The Gridiron Gang moniker was first dubbed by Ginny Baldridge, parent of Donovan '10. The leadership of the Gridiron Gang has been passed on through the years from Jim Nelson, Ed "Chief" Dobernig, Chuck Rantis, Marty and Avis Browne, Dan Plutchak and a number of other parents who have gone above and beyond to make sure that "our boys" are supported both at home and on the road, and that parents are "in the loop" of all things that are going on.
The parent tailgate lot at homes games is intentionally, the last stop on the Forester Walk, and the first place that the players come afterwards to be supported by those that love them, win or lose.
Since 2007 the post-game parent tailgate as grown due to the countless volunteer hours of dedicated parents. Our players always get a "home cooked" meal after the games. Since 2012, the Gridiron Gang as assisted the coaches with planning the end of the year banquet as well.
As both the team, and the Forester Family continues to grow, The Gridiron Gang meets the needs of parents and players alike. All help and suggestions are greatly appreciated. All are welcome to eat at our tables!
